Marina Alabau (ESP) will take a 14 point lead into the Women's RS:X Medal Race. Just three points split places two to five making for an exciting race for the medals on Tuesday.

The Spaniard had a sixth in Race 9 and a third in Race 10 to further extend her lead. Israel's Lee Korzits struggled in the light breeze finishing with a ninth and an 11th; nonetheless she managed to hold onto second place, tied on 38 points with Tuuli Petaja. 'It was my worst day but it was light winds and I gave it all I had. I am pretty happy with that,' said Korzits.

'I'm coming into the medal race full of adrenaline. I love adrenaline.'

Finland's Petaja drew into contention in the lighter breeze and won the final race to move into bronze medal position. The Fin said, 'Today was excellent. The lighter winds are not normally my speciality so I am particularly happy.'

Petaja has been consistent all week long with a discarded eighth her worst result and showed she can mix it up, 'I'm really confident with my speed in heavy winds, and today I proved I can do it in the light winds,' she added.

Germany's Moana Delle is third, one point behind the Israeli and Fin whilst Zofia Klepacka is fifth on 41 points.

The Medal race for the Women's RS:X will start at 14:00 local time on 7 August.
