London Olympics 2012 Sailing competition, Weymouth - RS:X class.
Dorian van Rijsselberge continued in great fashion in the Men's RS:X after another race win which was followed by a third as Nothe spectators were treated to two RS:X races.
The Dutchman recorded another comprehensive victory in the third Men's RS:X race but in Race 4 the thousands of fans watching saw Nick Dempsey (GBR) claw his way back to win the race on the line ahead of Byron Kokkalanis.
On his success so early in the regatta the upbeat and relaxed van Rijsselberge said, 'I had a beetroot juice, now this is the secret. Not everybody knows it but I love the beet.'
Van Rijsselberge read the conditions well on the Nothe Course to continue his fine form, 'It was a good day on the water. Little tricky course because the wind comes over the wall and there's a lot of geographical factors that come in. Because you can't see beyond the wall so you and estimate what's coming up.'
Dempsey moves into third place after a photo finish in the final race of the day. When it looked like Kokkalanis would take the race win the Brit stepped it up a gear and took the bullet. 'I did it for the crowd. It was all planned,' said Dempsey. 'You always give it your all until the end and it is always worth giving it a go.
'I was pretty adamant that I was going to try and pass him. Normally you can't do what I did today but it is the Olympic Games and you don't give an inch.'
Kokkalanis remains in contention and is just five points out of the medals with six races remaining whilst Przemyslaw Miarczynski (POL) maintained his steady start to the regatta and holds onto second place with a seventh and a fourth place on the water.
The Men's RS:X resume racing tomorrow at no earlier than 15:30 local time on the Portland Harbour course.
