World Laser Masters Championship 2012 entry now open

Applications for entry are now open until 10th January for the 2012 World Laser Masters Championship. The event is a restricted entry allocated championship and sailors who wish to enter need to first complete an application Find out more about the new Laser 4.7 Masters Category and how to enter.

If the sailor’s application is accepted and ranked by the National Laser Association, they will be automatically added to the waiting list. To visit the host venue website please click here. For more information about the ILCA Entry System, please click here.

Charter boats will be available from 9th March costing £500 (GBP) plus a refundable £150 (GBP) damage deposit.

Charter boats are supplied with hull with self-bailer, spars, centreboard, rudder, mainsheet side cleats, control line deck block fitting with blocks and control line deck cleat fitting with cleats. Charter boats are also supplied with XD padded toe straps, which are 870 mm long.

Competitors must provide their own ropes, boom vang, mainsheet block, traveller blocks, tiller and tiller extension, sail and battens.

Laser Worlds Masters Day 4 – we should have been here yesterday!!
Out on Brisbane’s Moreton Bay it appeared to be a typical autumn day for day 4 of competition. On the morning of day 4 of competition at the Laser World Masters Championships 2012 there was driving rain, which quickly cleared. Out on Brisbane’s Moreton Bay it appeared to be a typical autumn day with a steady 10 knot breeze blowing.

2012 Laser World Masters Championship has new 4.7 category
In a recent World Council meeting, there was unanimous agreement to introduce a 4.7 category at the Laser Masters Worlds In a recent World Council meeting, the Council was in unanimous agreement to introduce a 4.7 category at the 2012 Masters World Championship. The category will be open to male and female sailors from all age categories. The entry for the 4.7 category will be open instead of allocated by country

Laser fleet sailing for Perth
The task of building the 275 brand new Lasers for the World Championships is at final stage in PSA factory in NSW. At the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships being held between Saturday third and Sunday 18th December 2011, by the far the largest fleet in combination will be the Laser Radial and Laser Standard. The task of building the 275 brand new Lasers for the World Championships is reaching its final stage in the Performance Sailcraft (PSA) factory.
