Geoff Woolley and Mark Overington report on their 470 campaign and their results from the Holland Regatta which has just concluded in Medemblik, NED:

Hi everyone,

Today we had one race in gold fleet. The breeze was a shifty 18-22 knots and the sun finally came out but it was still only 12 degrees. We had an average start and were forced to the wrong side on the first beat. We then had a good downwind and gained back up and continued to gain through the race.

We finally finished 12th and finished up 19th overall for the regatta.

This was a pleasing result as it is our second regatta in Europe and we improved ten places from our first regatta at Hyeres.

We had some good races in the gold fleet which was also encouraging. We are having a few days break and will drive down to Hungary. We will then train there for about a week and prepare for the European Champs which are from the 10th - 18th June.

Cheers

Geoff and Mark

Editors Note: At the Holland Regatta the top ten in class overall go into the Medal Race which counts for double points. The Gold fleet then have a final race (minus the top ten who have gone into the Medal fleet).
