When Too Much Sailing is Never enough… Head North
by The Sail-World Team on 9 Jul 2010
The Australian east coast fleets are preparing to head north, in a round up today we hear that 65 boats have already entered the Audi Sydney to Gold Coast Race and organisers are expecting to see 80 boats on the start line.
The Club Marine Brisbane to Keppel fleet is climbing towards 50, with a load of top guns ready to fire.
The really big news however comes from Meridien Marina Airlie Beach Race Week Director Denis Thompson who advises that the 21st Meridien Marinas Airlie Beach Race Week is an amazing 40 boats ahead on entries to the same time last year. We would not be surprised to see a fleet of 120 boats sailing on Pioneer Bay come August 11th.

Audi Hamilton Island’s entries are closing on 150 and will head towards 200.
Further up north Sunferries Magnetic Island Race Week September 3-7th at current rate expects to see 60 boats sailing on Cumberland Bay.
If you’ve never sailed north of Hayman and sadly that applies to many Whitsunday winter regulars, now is the time to organise a new adventure - It’s a great event. www.magneticislandraceweek.com.au
