West Riding SC launch Prize Draw

by Matt Cook on 6 Mar 2006
West Riding SC have launched a Prize Draw this weekend at the RYA Dinghy show (tickets are available online at www.wrsc.org.uk). First prize will be a brand new RS200. Members of the club are endeavouring to raise £80,000 towards the rebuild of their 68 year-old clubhouse that was destroyed in an arson attack last July.

The winter has been spent demolishing the remains of the building and clearing the site in readiness for the new clubhouse. The target has been reduced by £37,000 through fundraising events, donations and the generous provision of various services by John R Paley Associates, Northtech Ltd, and UK Coal.

All energies are now being concentrated on the Prize Draw. A team of WRSC club members have been selling tickets at the dinghy show and many more are available to buy online. Following the Show, all sailing clubs in the UK are being targeted to buy tickets.

Besides acknowledgements to LDC for all their help, other organisations that have contributed to the fabulous prize list include Crewsaver, Henri Lloyd, Musto, Laser, Regatta, Rooster Sailing, RYA and Yachts & Yachting. The draw will be made during WRSC’s Spring Bank Regatta on May 27-29 2006.
