Virgin Islands Sailing Series announce sponsorship deal

The Virgin Islands Sailing Series 2013 inks a sponsorship deal with OtterBox, a leader in the production of premier protective solutions for global handheld manufacturers, wireless carriers and distributors, the International Melges 32 Class Association (IM32CA) announced on Friday.
Event No. 1, the BVI Sportboat Regatta takes place this weekend in beautiful Virgin Gorda, BVI, hosted by the prestigious Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. Two days of practice commence on Tuesday, February 19. Registration and regatta prep continue and complete on Wednesday, February 20. Then four days of full-on, high-powered Melges 32 racing action starts on Thursday, ending on Sunday, February 24.
The awards on Sunday will include crowning the first OtterBox VISS Event winner. In addition to some magnificent trophies, the champion will also go home with an iPad mini and matching OtterBox Defender Series case. There are lots of other great products that will be awarded such as OtterBox Armor Series cases for iPhone and other very cool accessories.
The 2013 OtterBox Melges 32 Virgin Islands Sailing Series consists of three exquisite events and is the first ever of its kind for the progressive sportboat class. Act one of the three-part series, the BVI Sportboat Regatta takes place this weekend, February 21-24, hosted by Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Virgin Gorda. The second event happens in conjunction with the International Rolex Regatta in the U.S. Virgin Islands on March 22-24, 2013. The grand finale of the Series, the 2013 Caribbean Championship happens in late April on the luxurious and very private Peter Island.
