With just over 24 days to the start of the Vendee Globe, the IMOCA 60 Acciona 100% EcoPowered has pulled in to Les Sables D’Olonne, the boat’s new base, where it will be participating in the race— the toughest round-the-world regatta, alone and with no stops.
On Monday the 15th, at 6pm, the Acciona 100% EcoPowered left its base at Brest and is now moored in the Race Village along with the rest of the competitors; the sailboat will remain there until the race gets off to a start on Saturday November 10th, at 1.02 pm.
It’s a dream come true for the Acciona 100%Ecopowered’s skipper: At long last! Here we are at Les Sables D'Olonne; the memories come flooding back from my first Vendée Globe twelve years ago. I’m really proud to be at the helm of a sailboat like the Acciona 100% EcoPowered—it’s a unique example of innovation and eco-efficiency that shows the potential of renewable energies.
