Transat Bretagne-Martinique - Le compte à rebours a commencé

Le compte à rebours a commencé. La date du grand départ approche. Le 17 mars, ils seront près de vingt bateaux à couper la ligne de départ de Brest, cap sur la Martinique. Sur un parcours de 3 500 milles au jeu très ouvert, la course, première épreuve du Championnat de France Elite de Course au Large en Solitaire, promet d'être disputée.

Brest, haut lieu de la course au large, sera le théâtre du départ de la Transat Bretagne-Martinique. Amarrés dès le 8 mars à la marina du Château, les Figaro Bénéteau 2 trouveront toutes les infrastructures nécessaires à une préparation technique et sportive, dès le Prologue AG2R LA Mondiale, le dimanche 10 mars. L'occasion également de rencontrer pendant une semaine un public toujours féru d'histoires de mer et admiratif de ces skippers de haut niveau.

Les 3 500 milles à parcourir à travers l'Atlantique laisseront libre cours aux stratégies les plus osées. Golfe de Gascogne, Terceira (archipel des Açores à laisser à tribord), traversée alizéenne, approche de la Martinique, tous les coups seront permis sur ce parcours très ouvert. En 2011, les solitaires avaient réalisé une transat express en seize jours. Cette année, les paris sont lancés! Nul doute que les marins auront à cœur de jouer les chefs de file pour succéder ainsi à Thomas Rouxel, vainqueur de la précédente édition. Les eaux turquoise de la Martinique seront le cadre enchanteur de l'arrivée de la Transat. Un finish de rêve, un accueil toujours chaleureux à Fort-de-France, voilà ce qui attend les marins après plus de quinze jours de traversée.

Le plateau de cette première épreuve du championnat de France Elite de Course au Large en Solitaire rassemblera les figaristes les plus affûtés. Six des dix premiers du Championnat 2012 sont d'ores et déjà engagés : Yann Elies, Gildas Morvan, Erwan Tabarly, Fabien Delahaye, Fred Duthil, Adrien Hardy. Tous sont déjà dans les starting-blocks…

A noter dans vos agendas : la présentation des skippers engagés sur la Transat Bretagne-Martinique aura lieu le 26 février à 11 heures à bord de l'espace Liberty des Yachts de Paris - Port de Javel haut.

Mark and Annette Malacek’s Beneteau First 40.7 from West Vancouver Yacht Club crossed the finish line around 1:45 pm local time. It was great relief to the many family and fans that greeted Kraken's arrival.
