TradeABoat's Jeff Strang explains how to achieve good vision 'n safety
|
TradeABoat Editor Jeff Strang explains how to achieve good vision and improved safety while boating. Jeff says 'All the technology in the world is no substitute from being able to see out of the window. From a safety viewpoint, good visibility is a must when negotiating busy harbors in poor light. Clean, salt spray windows greatly enhance a general boating experience and even help in preventing sea-sickness'. Jeff recently had the pleasure of skippering a 51' Riviera for 8 days of offshore fishing. The weather during the trip was not perfect, and the windscreen wipers were utilized for many hours. Nearing the end of the trip, he noticed something odd about the glass. Usually by this time, the glass will have become caked with sea salt and minerals, making it difficult to see out. Unusually in this case, the glass was clear, and shedding sea water perfectly, Enquiries with the owner led to a phone call with Kevin Mclaren from Execute Boat Valet Ltd. Kevin revealed that the windows of the boat has been treated with NanoShield MarineShield Clear Vision. It creates a tough, hydrophobic bonded surface on the glass that simply beads water away. It also stops grime and salt from staining the windows. Kevin says ' This is the best product there is. Jeff has found out that even after 8 days of difficult conditions, MarineShield was still durable and effective, I have applied it to many boats as part of our service and maintenance, and everyone has been impressed. The improvement in safety and ease of cleaning is just amazing.' Kevin also said that quite a few charter boats ask for it, simply because it made cleaning up after a charter that much easier and quicker. NanoShield MarineShield ClearVision is available both as a specialist applied product as well as a DIY Kit. For the month of May and June 2010, Burns Co Marine has a special gift of an Organic Odor Eliminator for every purchase in their stores New Zealand wide. Note: Jeff Strang prides on being an editor with an independent mind. NanoShield has not purchased or agreed to purchase any advertisement space from TradeABoat. Jeff was impressed with the product at work and its durability and wrote the article on that basis.
