The Weather Bureau had expected that last nights southerly change would leave a residual southerly for this morning, with a weak sea breeze gradually filling in later in the afternoon.

However back on the dock in Rushcutters Bay at 10.30am the flags were showing that the breeze was already coming from the north, yet only lightly.

Now abeam Clarke Island the breeze is coming from 040 at 6 knots.

The final three sailing medals will be decided today.

The Finn class with Iain Percy leading from Fredrik Loof will be decided on course B north of Clarke Island.

Torben Grael hopes to cement his Star class Gold medal on course C to the east of Bradley's Head.

The longest result time frame will be Soling match race flights between Jochen Schuemann and Jesper Bank which will take place on course A between the Opera House & Kiribilli.

A key element for good results at Malcesine was the importance of starting well and getting to the first mark in front. On occasion, tension during the pre-start was heightened with the race committee’s decision to start a number of races under a black flag, meaning any boat over the line at the start would be disqualified from the race.

Norauto grows stronger with new podium finish at 2016 GC32 Racing Tour
The organizers decided to cancel Sunday’s race following the collision of a press RIB and Malizia - Yacht Club de Monaco Although there were no regattas on Sunday, the Norauto team still went out to train, concluding more than 10 days of continuous sailing aboard their foiling catamaran, which was just as exhilarating as it was demanding.

Safety first at the GC32 Malcesine Cup after media RIB collision
A safety group within the GC32 Class Association has been set up to improve safety procedures for future GC32 regattas. Following the collision of Malizia - Yacht Club de Monaco and a press RIB on Friday, the Fraglia Vela Malcesine and the GC32 International Class Association did not reach an agreement over the liability for the final day of racing.

Team Tilt beats rival Norauto after intense race at GC32 Malcesine Cup
Conditions proved challenging for the 10-strong fleet with nine races completed over the course of Thursday and Friday. Team Tilt, led by Arnaud Psarofaghis, won the second stage of the GC32 Racing Tour in Malcesine on Lake Garda in Italy “To finish ahead of these big teams is a really good result for us!” said crew member and Emirates NZ skipper Glenn Ashby. “The team manages the boat very well; their Decision 35 experience really paid off here.'
