Team ENGIE leaves Oman in 6th place at the Extreme Sailing Series Swathik Rushend
As a preamble to his new season in GC32, Sébastien Rogues and the Team ENGIE crew benefited from very high-level training during two major international events, the GC32 Championship and the first leg of the Extreme Sailing Series which took place in Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman.

The end of the first leg of the Extreme Sailing Series that has just ended in Muscat is synonymous with an initial assessment for Sébastien Rogues. Invited on the ESS, Team ENGIE can de proud of its performance, having won 3 second places and 3 third places. With 27 rounds sailed in 4 days, the intensity of the regattas and the extremely high level of competition was a tremendous opportunity for the team. Competing against teams such as Alinghi, SAP Extreme Sailing Team and Oman Air, reigning world champion, Sébastien and his crew rose to the challenges with impressive style and proved that the French GC32 is an opponent to be watched his year. By finishing sixth, just behind Team Tilt (second in the GC32 Racing Tour in 2016), Team ENGIE continues its solid progress.

Team ENGIE will return to Europe strengthened by this new experience and long navigations with the most high-level crews of this circuit. The first event of the GC32 Racing Tour that Sébastien Rogues, Gurvan Bontemps, Jean Baptiste Gellée, Antoine Joubert and Benjamin Amiot will participate in, will be held in Riva on Lake Garda from Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th May. Just under two months for the beginning of this season which promises to be very interesting.

'This experience for Team ENGIE on the Extreme Sailing Series has been very enriching. It was the first time that we participated in this event. The level is incredible and it is really a plus for the Team to be able to compete against the best in the world, for it was a world championship podium. Our stay in Muscat was amazing and we are eager to take part in the GC32 Racing Tour in less than two months ' confided Sébastien Rogues.
