Halfmoon Bay Marina – winners of the Seamanship award. Normally river sailors these guys did a fantastic job adapting to the open water conditions we have on the harbour. - 2014 Inter Marina MRX Annual Sailing Challenge Tom Macky
This year the race was over subscribed with several regular entrants missing out – well done to the organisers, Kevin Lidgard and his Westhaven team.
On the water Tauranga Bridge Marina showed the Aucklanders how it’s done by sailing a faultless race and leading from start to finish. Chaffers Marina, however, won the award for travelling the longest distance to compete caming all the way from Wellington to test their luck.
The race was followed with a Hawaiian theme BBQ prize giving at Ponsonby Cruising Club. Awesome Day! Well done to all!
