Tasar National Championships - Lissiman and Campbell claim heat 5 win

Tasar National Championships Royal Perth Yacht Club .
Lloyd Lissiman and Fiona Campbell have just won heat 5 of the Tasar National Championships which is currently underway in Victoria, at Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron. RPYC is represented by three boats, Lloyd and Fiona in 'the rum rebellion', Kate and Roger Best in 'Butterfly Effect' and Mike and Ethan McAullay in 'Organised Koas'.
This is how the race 5 panned out for Lloyd and Fiona: They started a little late at the boat end of the line, tacked away and worked the right hand side of the course on the first windward leg, to be in first place at the top mark by about 10 boat lengths. They were never headed around the track and led at each mark. As the breeze strengthened to about 18 knots, the fleet began to close in, but Lloyd and Fiona managed to hold them off, to take the win by two boat lengths.
The win is of significance, because it is the first time since the 1999 National championship (sailed at Mounts Bay) that a West Australian has won a heat of the Tasar National Championship, and it is the first time that a boat representing RPYC has won a National Heat ever!
Well done and congratulations Lloyd and Fiona, keep the RPYC flag
