Sydney Hobart IRC Results BEFORE Protests

2009 Sydney to Hobart start Rolex/Daniel Forster

Last night, there seemed a possibility that the Balmain Sailing Club's Zephyr Hamilton Elevators, the smallest boat in the 2009 Rolex Sydney Hobart fleet might snatch overall victory.
In the late afternoon and early evening she was being blown at speed towards the Hobart finish line, which she needed to cross by 01:31 this morning.
However the Derwent River turned off the TV, put the cat out and was in bed by 2200.
The Alex Brandon and James Connell owned Farr 1020 crossed the line just before dawn this morning at 0433, she finished third overall in her division. A great result for the 1984 launched, McDell Marine NZ built sloop.
Here are the overall IRC results BEFORE this morning's protest hearings, which will unfortunately decide the overall Sydney to Hobart handicap winner.
