All of the events planned for Sydney Harbour this summer, including maps and on-water traffic restrictions and safety advice, is now available in a guide.
Roads and Maritime Services Acting Director Maritime Mel McCabe said Roads and Maritime Services compiled the guide to key aquatic events and it will be available free to boaters.
'The 28-page colour Sydney’s Summer Aquatic Events – A Boating Guide provides safety and navigation advice and details the major aquatic events planned to take place on Sydney Harbour, including advice for boaters on anchoring, best vantage points, special-event navigation restrictions and exclusion zones,' Ms McCabe said.
'The big events which draw hundreds of thousands of spectators – afloat and ashore – are all listed, such as the Sydney to Hobart Race start on Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve on Sydney Harbour and the many events planned for Australia Day.
'There are also maps of events and race courses to help skippers prepare for and plan their day on the water.
'Safety information is provided to help boaters plan ahead and follow regulations around lifejackets, distress flares and drink driving.
'The guide is available free at waterfront clubs, marinas, outdoor retailers and boating chandleries across Sydney,' Ms McCabe said.
