Gottskar, Sweden will host the 2008 inaugural RS Tera World Championship. This will be the first World Championship for single-handed junior sailors under age 15 in a the RS Tera class and nearly 50 boats are already entered from seven nations. The second RS Feva World Championship also takes place at Gottskar, starting Saturday (2 August) with over 100 boats entered from ten nations.

The second RS Feva World Championship takes place from 2 to 9 August, at Gottskar in Sweden and with over 100 boats entered from ten nations, mostly sailed by juniors aged 12 to 16. The Feva became a full ISAF International Class in November 2006 following strong growth around the world. In fact it has been the world’s best selling two person sailboat in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Made in rotomoulded polyethylene, Fevas are strong, affordable and introduce young sailors to teamwork and double handed racing, with an asymmetric spinnaker and excellent performance that make it very appealing to a new generation and highly successful with fleet operators.

The RS Feva will be used for the Australian Youth Olympic festival in 2009 and the next RS Feva World Championships will be held in Sydney, Australia in 2010 and then in the Great Britain in 2012, just before the Olympic Games.

The RS Tera class will hold its first Junior World Championships from 8 to 10 August at Gottskar, Sweden, following its acceptance as an ISAF Recognised Class in November last year.

This will be the first World Championship for single-handed junior sailors under age 15 in a the RS Tera class and nearly 50 boats are already entered from seven nations.

The RS Tera is a modern design that young sailors find attractive and exciting, helping to attract them to the sport and then keep them hooked. For example, Aabenraa Sejl Club in Denmark has a project to increase youth sailing participation in cooperation with Dansk Sejlunion. The Tera dinghy plays an important part in the club's development project, Hans Jørn Thomsen saying, 'The young ones are completely crazy about sailing it'.

The rotomoulded polyethylene construction is very durable, making the boat ideal for novices and club fleets and the cost is very reasonable. Sail size options allow sailors to progress as their experience and size grows.
