The association of Alpari companies, providing forex trading services worldwide, has signed to become an Official Boat Sponsor at this year’s Stena Match Cup Sweden, one of the world’s premier match racing events. London, UK (June fifth, 2013)
The agreement sees Alpari support Stena Match Cup Sweden, which features as the third official stage of the Alpari World Match Racing Tour (AWMRT), for the second consecutive year. The event is held in Marstrand, Sweden, between first and sixth July 2013.
The forex broker’s partnership with the Tour started in February 2012 when Alpari announced a landmark five-year, multimillion-dollar global title sponsorship deal with the prestigious professional sailing series. The AWMRT is an excellent match for Alpari as it visits some of its key targets for expansion, with sailing events taking place in North America, Asia and across Europe. Alpari recently further extended its commitment to the Tour with the launch of Team Alpari FX, a new racing team skippered by ex-world champion Adam Minoprio who are competitors on this season on the Tour.
Stena Match Cup Sweden is the second-largest event in the Swedish sport calendar. More than 115,000 spectators attended the six-day event last year and it attracted broad international media coverage, which helped Alpari strengthen its brand profile among sailing fans worldwide.
