Planning for the 2013 Auckland Regatta has begun. It’s time to mark the date and book the crew!

The Auckland Regatta (formerly the BMW Auckland Regatta), New Zealand’s premier keelboat regatta is jointly run by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and Bucklands Beach Yacht Club. Entries are invited from all keelboat clubs throughout New Zealand. This prestigious regatta is now in its sixth year.

Announcing entries
We are delighted to announce the Elliot 5.9s will celebrating their 30th anniversary by hosting their national championships as part of the Auckland Regatta. A large fleet is expected to participate. We welcome back the Elliot 7s from RNZYS who have confirmed they will be onboard. The Farr 1020s and 8.5 multihulls will also do their nationals.

Pacific Keelboat Challenge
The MRX fleet will be used once again to host the Pacific Keelboat Challenge. An invitation to compete in the regatta has gone to international yacht clubs. Our Australian competitors loved this year’s event, we hope to see them again in 2013!

Notice of Race
The notice of race is now on the website, well in advance of the regatta.

About our sponsors
Steinlager is back onboard as naming rights sponsor to the Steinlager Beach party. Steinlager has had a long association with yachting in New Zealand. What more could a sailor want after a days racing!

Yachting New Zealand
Big thanks to David Abercrombie from YNZ who has confirmed they will support us again in 2013. YNZ have been onboard supporting the regatta since the start.

Mount Gay
Thanks to our loyal supporter Mount Gay! Where would we be without you at the Steinlager Beach party?

Seeking naming rights sponsor
An opportunity exists for naming rights sponsor for the Auckland Regatta. The Auckland Regatta Trust would welcome any enquiries from companies interested in a partnership with the Auckland Regatta Trust. We want to secure the future of this event on the sailing calander.

The Auckland Regatta Trust welcomes feedback on the event. Our aim is to deliver a regatta that yachties want! We hope you are planning your 2013 Auckland Regatta entry.
