Solo Nationals - Charlie Cumberly retains lead
'Solo'    icon
Overcoming the very shifty wind conditions, Charlie Cumberly from Teign Corinthian retains the lead after day 2 at the Solo National Championships at the Royal Torbay Yacht Club.

The NW breeze coming over the land meant that the wind changed not only in direction but in strength and with the windward mark set near the marina, some considerable place changing took place.

Winner of the first race was Pete Hammond from Salcombe who beat Alister Morley and Andy Davis. Cumberly finished in fifth.

In race 2 victory went to Davis with Cumberly in second place after he had led round the final mark, but it was enough to keep him in first place overall, with Davis taking second overall, three points back.

Behind these two it is very close with Geoff Henstridge from the Pentland Forth tied on 15 points with Morley and Ellis. In sixth place, on 17 points is Chris Brown, then Hammond on 23 points and in eighth Vince Horey tied with Steve Cockerill on 30 points.
