If you would like to refresh your boating skills and pick up some top tips from expert instructors, then sign up today for the RYA ‘Active Marina Experience’ at the Tullet Prebon London International Boat Show(12-20 January ).

New for 2013, the Active Marina Experience Workshops will be running throughout the show (every day except Thursday 17th) on the WHICH MARINA stand (E138), and will be providing visitors with a selection of free shore based workshops, from diesel engine maintenance to VHF refreshers and radar operations.

The event is part of the RYA Active Marina programme which encourages boat owners to get more out of life with their boats by gaining the confidence and skills to leave their berths and get out on the water more often.

'We are delighted to be able to share the Active Marina Experience for the first time with visitors of the London Boat Show. We ran the ‘Experience’ at this year’s Southampton Boat Show with fully booked workshops and received fantastic feedback from all our participants,' said RYA Yachting Development Officer Guy Malpas who has been instrumental in creating the programme.

Places are very limited so it is highly recommended you book your session in advance by emailing Bookings@which-marina.com, calling 01784 223816 or by visiting the Which Marina stand (E138) at the show.

'Active Marina workshops are tailor made to build knowledge and boost confidence of boaters of all abilities. Due to weather conditions in January we cannot run the on the water sessions, but we are excited to be able to offer shore based sessions and hope that visitors will benefit hugely from them,' concluded Guy.

The RYA Active Marina Programme encourages and supports increased berth holder activity by partnering with marinas, RYA recognised training centres, berth holder groups and yacht clubs to establish or enhance a programme of training, cruising and social opportunities.
