Another exciting new addition to the Elan bluewater cruising range was premiered at the UK Southampton Boat Show in September - the Impression 344 is the third model in Elan’s distinctive Impression range and follows in quick succession to the Impression 384’s release in January this year and the April 2004 launch of the premiere 434 model. Australian importer of Elan yachts, Navsail, is delighted with the immediate order for this latest release, placed by an Australian client who was in the UK at the time of the show. His beautiful new blue-hulled 2 cabin Impression 344 scheduled to leave the factory to arrive here in December. The Impression 344 is another simply stunning design by Rob Humphreys and sets a new benchmark for bluewater cruisers in this size range. The new 344 is the smallest in this range but displays all the features of her bigger sisters, the Impression 434 and 384, cleverly designed and configured into her 34ft. Designed and rigged for ease of sail, ultra spacious, light and airy, the interior volume of the 344 is surprisingly bigger than the Elan 37 Performance Cruiser. Navsail’s Rod Parry says, ‘The distinctive style gives this model enormous appeal and is certain to be a popular choice for a bluewater cruiser in this ideal size range especially for single handed sailing or the cruising couple. ‘The Impression 344 offers the bluewater cruising family so much to enjoy’, adds Parry ‘days of blissful cruising with ease of handling and importantly the peace of mind that they are sailing on a yacht that is designed with exceptional seaworthiness, high stability ratings and a superior keel fixing that’s second to none.’ There’s the option of 2 or 3 cabin layout but it’s the 2 cab version that offers the much desired luxury of a separate shower. Other features of the Impression 344 are a generous storage for extended cruising, big anchor locker and built-in rear fender. All Elan yachts are built to exacting Germanischer Lloyd Certifications standards. The design of Impression range is distinctly different; the hull has a deep bilge and is specifically designed for cruising. The introductory offer with a great sail-away package is well worth taking advantage of and Navsail advise early ordering to secure the early position in the production line for delivery in time to enjoy some glorious summer sailing this season. The Impression cruising range is a great success for Elan; confidence in the Rob Humphreys’ design and Elan’s excellent build invariably sees orders in-waiting at design stage. Navsail reports successful results from the Sydney International Boat Show which will see many new Elan owners on the water; with high level interest in the new Impression range while the remarkable performing Elan 37 is panning out to the all time favourite. December will see the arrival of the first Impression 434 Owners Version 3, for an east coast buyer. One recent 434 client took delivery in Europe and has been extensively cruising the med for most of this year. He reports that his 434 is in super condition and very fast. With the scheduled January arrival of the first Impression 344 for display, the entire Elan range of Elan’s Impression bluewater cruisers and Performance Cruisers will be in Australia for interested parties to inspect. The Impression 384 model is currently available to view at Gibson Marina, contact Navsail for appointment or further details of the Elan range.
