Sarah is the lone Victorian in the Australian team going to Athens for the 2004 Olympic Games in which she will compete in the Europe single-handed dinghy.
Now aged 26, Sarah has three World championship medals, her first earned when she was a youth sailor in 1995, winning the ISAF Youth World Championship. She followed that up by winning the Laser Radial World’s in 1997.
Sarah’s most recent World title was her gold medal performance in 2002, winning the Olympic class Europe Dinghy World Championships – the only Australian woman to ever do so.
Sarah just missed selection in the Europe class in 2000 – to fellow Victorian Melanie Dennison, but has come back stronger with a renewed vigour, her mind set on a Gold medal in Athens.
A fundraiser will be held at Royal Brighton Yacht Club, where a Greek Australia Day is planned from 1100am - 5.00pm, featuring Greek and Australian food, bands, raffles, auctions and lucky prizes.
At $20 entry per person, including food, or $40 for a family entry, this is good value for an excellent cause.
