Sail-World on Facebook -Check us out!!

Sail-World.com, the world's largest international sailing network, has launched its Facebook site.

On Facebook you can find it by searching for Sail-World and there are links now from the Sail-World sites to Sail-World's Facebook page.


Jeraldine Kennedy, Sail-World UK and European Editor explained 'Sail-World's Facebook wall has key selections from the nine Sail-World sites world-wide posted as well as providing the opportunity for Fans to get to know the Editors.

'We have already posted feature stories from many of our editors world-wide for the last six months, going forward we will be adding key stories each day. As you can see by the stories we are featuring, the interests of our editors is varied.

'On our Facebook site, you will find photos of the Sail-World Team and their bios. A very interesting mix of sailing backgrounds and a lot of journalism, writing, photographing and video experience.

'We will shortly add links to our full photo-gallery, our video-gallery.

'Every day on the Sail-World.com internet sites we receive lots of feedback, but it’s restricted in nature by the medium.

'With these feature stories range over a wide variety of subjects, there placement on Facebook will allow everyone to see your reactions. We are looking forward to your commentary on these issues and we trust you will ‘Like' Sail-World on Sail-World on Facebook

LV America’s Cup World Series – Big Ben takes a big win in Portsmouth
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were on hand to present the awards and it was a fitting end to an amazing weekend. It really was Super Sunday for Ben Ainslie and Land Rover BAR whose second place in the last of Sunday’s three races gave them the overall regatta win at the Portsmouth event.

America’s Cup World Series – Sir Ben jumps into the lead in Portsmouth
Hot, sunny conditions and thousands of fans lining the Portsmouth seafront was the backdrop to crowd-pleasing action. The home team, Land Rover BAR, led by skipper Sir Ben Ainslie, recovered from a poor first race result to win the second two contests and complete the day at the top of the leaderboard, much to the delight of the tens of thousands of cheering fans lining the shorefront.

LV America's Cup World Series – Poised to pounce for Super Sunday
Oracle Team USA showed determination and fightback in claiming two second place finishes from the first two races Unfortunately, in the third race, the team was pushed right to the back of the pack and couldn't recover. The results leave the team on equal points for third place with SoftBank Team Japan, just three points behind the leaders, Land Rover BAR and Groupama Team France.
