The Sabot Nationals gets underway at Drummoyne Sailing Club tomorrow. Young Tasmanian sailors filled of five the top 10 places in the 120 strong fleet that contested yesterday’s invitation race for the 50th Sabot dinghy class on Sydney’s Upper Harbour.
Showing the benefits of an intensive pre-Nationals build-up under coach James Burman, Sam King helming Red Herring from the Royal Yacht Club Tasmania Dinghy Group, had a convincing win and showed he will be one of the sailors to beat when the championship racing starts today.
Joshua Ragg, sailing White Knuckle Ride, finished third, just pipping team mate William Wallis in Loose Cannon.
Josh Jones from Port Dalrymple Yacht Club, finished seventh with teammate Josh Harriss ninth. PDYC pair Ruby and Max Edmunds finished fourth in the Junior Division
