Russia’s Alexey Krylov/Vlad Kapitonov/Alexei Bushuev are the new Cascais Dragon Gold Cup leaders after the second day of racing in the fantastic scenery of Cascais.

Britain’s Robert Campbell/Matt Walker/Jonathan Hill are second overall and Portuguese Manuel Champalimaud/Mark Hart/Ed Streeter are third. Ukrainian Eugeniy Braslavets and Portuguese Filipe Silva won the second day races.

A shiny day and wind blowing from 6 to 8 knots, were the perfect conditions that the 74 Dragon fleet had for the second of racing in Cascais. In the first race, Ukraine’s Eugeniy Braslavets/Sergey TImokhov/Claus Olesen won. Gavia Wilkinson-Cox/Jon Mortimer/Ron Rosenberg from Great Britain were second and Frank Berg/Soren Nielsen/Soren Kaestel, from Denmark finished third.

The second race was perfect for Filipe Silva/Joaquim Moreira/Miguel Pinto. The Portuguese crew started and finished first, dominating the race. Germany’s Philip Dohse/Oliver Mose/Jan Scharfetter and Great Britain’s Robert Campbell/Matt Walker/Jonathan Hill were second and third.

In general overall, consistency seems to be the secret, no one from the top three won a race, with Russia’s Alexey Krylov/Vlad Kapitonov/Alexei Bushuev being the new leaders followed by Great Britain’s Robert Campbell/Matt Walker/Jonathan Hill and Manuel Champalimaud/Mark Hart/Ed Streeter, from Portugal.

Tomorrow the fleet will have 1 race, starting at 14:00h.
