Late this morning beside Constitution Dock on a cloudy, windy but warm Hobart day, the Division winners were presented with their trophies and battle flags by CYCA Commodore Howard Piggot and Patrick Boutellier of Rolex Australia.
The formal prizegiving will take place tomorrow at 11am at the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania.
Meanwhile at 6pm this evening two yachts still remain at sea - Noel Sneddon's CIC Technology Inca and Sean Langman's Maluka of Kermandie - with their positions placing them both close to the entry to the Derwent River.
Judging from Race Tracker the two boats have spent the day travelling almost twice the the 29 nautical mile rhumbline distance between Tasman Island and the Iron Pot as they tack back and forth against the prevailing west/nor'wester.
With current boat speeds of 5 knots and facing west to nor'westers in the river it's to be hoped that the Spirit of Derwent will be magnanimous on this special day, withholding his regular evening 'curfew' of a wind shutdown and letting the two tail enders reach Hobart in time to greet the New Year with their sailing mates.
