Robin Knox-Johnston four hours from finish

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston (SAGA INSURANCE) is expected to cross the finish line of the third and final leg of the VELUX 5 OCEANS in the next four hours (Bilbao, Basque country).

At 07:30 in Spain (05:30 GMT), English sailing legend Sir Robin Knox-Johnston onboard SAGA INSURANCE was 35 miles away from the finish of the VELUX 5 OCEANS. Sailing at the average speed of 10 knots, he should cross the finish line in the next 3-4 hours.

After 15 days at sea since he left Norfolk (Virginia, USA), Sir Robin looks set to take third place of the final leg of the Ultimate Solo Challenge. The final transatlantic leg of the race will leave him either 3rd or 4th place overall, depending on when rival Unai Basurko would cross the finish line, still 140 miles away from his actual position.
