Return of XXXX Sail Paradise 2013

XXXX Sail Paradise will make its return to Southport Yacht Club, Gold Coast on March 15-17, inviting all kinds of fleets from sports boats to more competitive IRC division keel boats.

In Sail Paradise's Fourth Year, the event will be incorporating the Queensland IRC State Championships, many vessels will be travelling down from Brisbane to participate. RQYS Member Ray Sweeny, skipper and owner of 'MONDO' a Sydney 38, being the first Entrant into the Championships, followed by SYC Member Tony Horkings, skipper and owner of 'LEE-WAY' a Northshore 38. Course's will be set off the Gold Coast shore line, courses will consist of Triangle, Windward/Leeward, Ocean Marks and Passage Racing.

Southport Yacht Club's Annual 'Go to Blazer Regatta' is also incorporated into the XXXX Sail Paradise 2013, with an expected fleet of 16 vessels.

2013 XXXX Sail Paradise will see the return of Australia’s leading professional yacht race manager, Denis Thompson, confirmed as Principal Race Officer. Many known faces to the regatta are ensured to return in the fourth year of Gold Coast Event.



With both On-water and On-shore events, there is something for everyone, the Waterfront Clubhouse will be hosting Live Entertainment and food each night for all competitors to enjoy.

The Event Schedule as follows:

Thursday 14th March: Registration and Welcome Party 1800hrs
Friday 15th March: Racing for all divisons 1000hrs
Saturday 16th March: Racing for all divsions 1000hrs
Sunday 17th March: Racing for all divisions 1000hrs
Sunday 17th March: Overall Presentation 1600hrs



Event organisers are also pleased to announce a number of Sponsors have come on-board with this spectacular event, XXXX will be naming rights sponsor for their second year along with Bruce Lynton BMW, Club Marine and the containing Sponsorship from Gold Coast Tourism.

The entire concept has been based on a plan to provide the highest level of competitive and satisfying summer sailing for crews of a wide range of yachts – from Grand Prix to Cruising – and at the same time present the sailors, their families and friends the chance to enjoy the many holiday pleasures to be found on the Gold Coast.
