RS:X World Windsurfing Championships took place in Perth, Australia, in December 2011 where Dorian Van Rijsselberghe emerged as the new world champion in Olympic class.

Dorian talks about his success and gives some advice to young sailors. Do you want to become a world champion? Here are some hints...

RS-X Worlds - A war of attrition ensues + Video
At the World Windsurfing Championships, the Gold Fleets were able to get out on the water and complete three races At the 2012 World Windsurfing Championships in Cadiz, the Gold Fleets were able to get out on the water and complete three races for the day whilst the Silver Fleet were unable to race. Wind speeds were solidly in the mid 20s and topping out over 30. This world championship is turning into a war of attrition. Attrition on the sailors. And attrition on the equipment.

At the 2012 RS:X World Windsurfing Championships, there was a break from normal practice At the 2012 RS:X World Windsurfing Championships, there was a break from normal practice in which the RS:X men's gold fleet was accompanied by their compadres in the silver fleet for the first day of the final series. It was Przemyslaw Miarczynski [POL] who was the most consistent posting 1-2-5 to move up the rankings to take over sixth spot overall.

It topped out at 40 knots plus mid morning and stayed there until 1500hrs.Up went the AP over A. No racing.

The RS:X World Windsurfing Championships are now underway in Cadiz, Spain. The men went out into a building breeze The RS:X World Windsurfing Championships are now underway in Cadiz, Spain. The men went out into a building breeze for a 1200hrs start. The wind was 8-18 knots along with big holes, shifts and testing times to say the least. It was the orange group who started first and Shahar Zubari [ISR11] who lead on the first upwind and all the way down to the bottom of the outside loop.

RS:X World Windsurfing Championships are to be held in the Bay of Cadiz from 21 to 28 March 2012. RS:X World Windsurfing Championships are to be held in the Bay of Cadiz from 21 to 28 March 2012. Olympic windsurfing is big in Israel. Out the six medals won by athletes for their country, at least three have been in windsurfing so it's not surprising that windsurfing fans in Israel are so passionate about their stars.

RS-X World Windsurfing Championships - Wall to wall talent
RS:X World Windsurfing Championship entries are now closed and fleets are full. RS:X World Windsurfing Championship entries are now closed and fleets are full. 120 men and 80 women have been accepted to race. There are more sailors from more countries here than raced in the RS:X fleets at the 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships last December in Perth.
