He joined MasterCraft with a wealth of leadership experience not only in the marine industry, but specifically within performance water sports segment, having spent 24 years in the business with executive roles at both Brunswick and Correct Craft.
He served as President and CEO of Correct Craft from 2004-2006, and most recently has served as Executive Vice President, Manufacturing and Quality for the Recreational Boat Group at Brunswick, where he had a global responsibility for manufacturing, quality, product development and engineering for Brunswick’s recreational boat brands.
Prior to these roles, he held increasingly senior positions at Sea Ray, starting there in 1988 as a laminator and chop gun operator and ultimately leading manufacturing and PD&E. Mr McNew received his BSBA in Economics from the University of Central Florida – College of Business Administration and is certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt from the University of Tennessee.
MasterCraft will showcase two new models that have never been at Sydney before: the X10 and the X55. The X10 is the marque’s new 21 foot conventional V-hull and the X55 is the 25 foot 5 inch 'picklefork machine'.
But headlining all of these is the worldwide boat show launch of the 2014 X46. This new model was launched on 1 July and boat number two is now en route to Sydney, where it will no doubt wow visitors to this year’s show.
Featuring 24 feet 6 inches of creature comforts, cavernous storage and crisp handling, all designed around a hull that delivers incredible surf wake, the X46 pounds through the busiest day on the water without missing a beat and boasts space for 15 passengers inside a massive well-appointed cockpit.
Powered by an Ilmor 5.7L multi-point injection pushing 320 hp, with upgrade to the 7.4L 522hp, this machine will provide ours of fun. The wake has been fine-tuned for open water slalom to competitive wakeboard.
There will also be five other MasterCraft models on display.
