PredictWind's latest Sydney to Hobart Forecast. An exciting 48 Hours!

'PredictWind.com Sydney to Hobart Monday 0800hrs - Sydney to Hobart'    PredictWind.com
PredictWind.com is forecasting a variety of conditions for the fleet of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race as they pass Bass Strait and move on towards Tasmania. From more wind holes to 30 knot northerlies we can expect to see some very exciting sailing over the next 48 hours!

The dreaded wind hole continues with most of the fleet experiencing variable winds remaining under 5 knots until late Monday morning. As the boats near Flinders Island a westerly will begin to blow through Bass Strait. This westerly should begin to build from 10-15 knots at midday up to 25 knots by 1700hrs depending on location.

Tuesday morning shows another wind hole off the coast of Tasmania, which could last for as much as six hours. Between 1100 and 1400hrs the westerly wind funnelling through the Strait should bend around the coastline becoming a nor westerly around 15-25 knots. This breeze should decrease to 10 knots around 1700hrs before a new 15-20 knot southerly flow arrives around 2000hrs.

By Wednesday morning we can expect another change in wind direction as this southerly decreases to 10 knots as it slowly shifts to the northeast. This northeast breeze is expected to increase throughout the day possibly up to 30 knots around 1700hrs.

PredictWind is fast becoming the choice of expert sailors worldwide. As Navigator Marc Lagasse confirms, 'I have been using the PredictWind's 1km High Resolution model since it's inception. I have no problem recommending it to any serious sailor as I find it extremely reliable and accurate. The fact that you get two models for comparison, allows you to make calls with confidence.

PredictWind's 1km Model seems to be unusually accurate with regards to the geographical features of any venue. An update email and the fact the PredictWind interfaces seamlessly with Expedition Tactical Software has the added benefit of always having the latest weather data right there on your display.

Highly recommended!'
