Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Series – Solitary Islands Race Forecast

'PredictWind Wind Map 1100hrs Tue 5th Jan - Pittwater & Coffs Harbour Offshore Series'   

PredictWind is forecasting light to moderate winds for the Solitary Islands Races on 5th and 6th of January. The races are part of the recently developed Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Offshore Series and should make for some interesting racing.

As the start gun fires at 1200hrs on Tuesday 5th January PredictWind is forecasting southerly winds of 5-6 knots. From there the forecast shows the wind shifting to the east around 1500hrs when it should be between 9-11 knots. By 1800hrs competitors should see northeast winds between 12 and 14 knots.

For Wednesdays race competitors can expect northeast winds for the majority of the race. The PredictWind models are forecasting a northeast start with 10 knots winds. The wind is then likely to shift a little to the north becoming a north-northeast between 10-14 knots for the remainder of the race before decreasing to under 9 knots after 2100hrs.
