PSA Laser Coaching Clinics

.

Are you interested in coaching to improve your skills?

The Laser dinghy is the world’s most popular adult and youth racing class largely due to its affordability and for being simply rigged making it easy to get out on the water yet, to be fast, requires specific skills unique to Laser sailing. PSA is offering you the opportunity to fast track your learning process to ensure that you are able to maximize the pleasure that sailing your Laser brings.

Sailing a Laser is a great way to keep fit as it is so much fun to sail that you don’t notice how hard you have trained until afterwards. It is harder work to sail however and less pleasurable when you don’t know how to best harness the energy. A few technique and rigging tips from the experts can make a huge difference to the boats performance.

PSA has recruited some of the world’s top Laser sailors to host a series of coaching clinics in your area including two former ISAF World Ranked No 2’s, dual-Olympian Sarah Blanck and Olympian Laura Baldwin. Register your interest today and help us to make sure that we offer the services you require by telling us more precisely what you ideally want, where and when.

Does coaching really take a difference, certainly Sarah and Laura are living proof.

Laura Baldwin, British Olympian now campaigning for Australia in a bid to win Olympic Gold in London 2012 and one of the PSA team of Laser Coaches. says 'I was a club level sailor when watching the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games on TV inspired me to want to try and become a world class sailor. I hired some of the world’s best coaches to help me learn all the skills required to be the best.

The result went way beyond my wildest dreams as I qualified myself for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games just three years after commencing upon what seemed to be a rather far fetched pipe dream.

Now I’d like to share the wealth of knowledge I have acquired to help others experience the exhilarating buzz generated when you feel the boat sailing at its full potential'

Sarah Blanck says 'My first ever experience with a coach was about 6 weeks prior to competing in the Youth World Championships in the Laser Radial class. With only 8-10 sessions on the water, I improved so much, that I won the World Championships. I would not have achieved this without getting a coach to help me prepare. The rest is history, I won three World titles and sailed at two Olympic Games...

'Coaching can give you another perspective to your sailing. Coaching will make a difference to all levels in sailing, whether it's to get around the race course at your club, or to compete and achieve your goals at international competition. It's a great way for you to learn to manage your boat better, improve racing, learn about equipment, and enjoy our sport of sailing.'
