PKCR shows appreciation to sponsors with grand opening ceremony

Phuket King’s Cup Regatta Organizing Committee, led by its President, Kevin Whitcraft, joined with David Littlejohn, the Flag Commodore of Varuna Yacht Club; Rear Teansiri Montriwade, Deputy Commander; Somkiet Sangkaosutthirak, Vice Governor of Phuket and Andrew Swatdipakdi, General Manager of Kata Beach Resort and Spa to host the official Opening Ceremony of the 28th Phuket King’s Cup Regatta. The ceremony took place at Kata Beach Resort & Spa, the spiritual home of Asia’s classic race, and was attended by VIPs, media guests and hundreds of sailors from around the world.

The Phuket King’s Cup Regatta will be held from November 29 to 6 December, 2014. Under Royal Patronage, the Phuket King's Cup Regatta is organized by the Phuket King's Cup Regatta Organizing Committee under the auspices of the Royal Varuna Yacht Club, in conjunction with the Yacht Racing Association of Thailand, the Royal Thai Navy and the Province of Phuket.

About the Phuket King's Cup Regatta – Asia’s legendary yacht race under Royal Patronage

Inaugurated in 1987 to celebrate the 60th birthday of His Majesty the King of Thailand, the event has been held every year since, during the first week of December.

Under Royal Patronage, the Phuket King's Cup Regatta is organized by the Phuket King's Cup Regatta Organizing Committee under the auspices of the Royal Varuna Yacht Club, in conjunction with the Yacht Racing Association of Thailand, the Royal Thai Navy and the Province of Phuket.
