ORCV Helly Hansen Winter Series - INXS puts out the challenge

The ORCV Helly Hansen Winter Series gets underway on 30th June 2013 and if you haven’t entered then it is not too late! There is something for everyone – a Racing or a Cruising series, both culminating with the passage race to Geelong.

Since 2006, Rob Sill and his crew aboard INSX have competed in the ORCV Winter Series. For the past four years they have won the coveted Lord Warden’s Trophy presented to the overall winner of the Series. Can they do it again and will you be there to challenge them?

Currently Rob is enjoying the warmth and sunshine of the northern latitudes and skippering INSX will be son, Julian. Julian has sailed aboard the boat since it was purchased in 2006 and has worked his way from the mast, around the boat and now behind the wheel! A position familiar to him after his helming shifts in last year’s Sydney to Hobart race.

Julian says 'I have rallied the troops -the crew mix has changed and we have some newcomers to the boat which will be an interesting challenge in itself. We are aware of the pressure of defending the trophy for the fifth time but are not thinking about it and do not want to talk ourselves up too much!’

Among the competition he sees Addiction as a potential rival. 'We are evenly matched around the course and Addiction provides a good benchmark for how we are performing. Whatever the result, we will be out there in the freezing temperatures and having a good time!'

Think that you could be INSX’s nemesis? You won’t know unless you enter the 2013 Helly Hansen Winter Series here.
