Sail-World.com : North U 2013 Rules and Tactics Seminar
North U 2013 Rules and Tactics Seminar

John Kerr
New rules take effect January 1, 2013. The Rules and Tactics Seminar explains the rules (old and new) and explores how the rules shape racing tactics. Using a curriculum created jointly by Dave Perry, David Dellenbaugh, and Bill Gladstone, you'll learn how to use the rules to control other boats and how to keep your rivals from controlling you. Everyone receives the 2013 Rules and Tactics Seminar Workbook.

All our seminar leaders combine rules expertise with years of teaching experience. The emphasis is on your sailing, not our sea stories.

The complete course is available as a full day seminar (9:00-4:30) on any Saturday or Sunday, starting in Mid-January. As an alternative to the full day seminars, three hour weekday evening seminars are available.

There are no fees for hosting, but we do need your help to have a successful seminar:

* Date and Place: Select a date and course option, and provide a location.

* Marketing Support: We'll provide a flyer for email distribution, flyers you can display in your region and info to post online. To have a successful seminar we need your help to promote the event locally as an adjunct to our national marketing campaign.

* Local logistics: Arrange for coffee and lunches; receive UPS shipments, return registration forms and extra materials after; and help at the seminar with set up and registration.

* Seminar Set Up: Classroom style, large screen, Magnetic white board, control over light, registration table, catering (We pay for the catering, but need help to set it up), detailed directions, ample parking.

* Host the instructor. Local accommodations and transport for the instructor are always appreciated.

* Hosting a seminar takes some time, but no money. We cover all the expenses.
