North Sails New Zealand clients dominate 2014 Auckland to Fiji Race

After four days of mostly punishing upwind sailing followed by some champagne reaching conditions, the Botin 80 Beau Geste and Juan K VO70 Giacomo have claimed first and second on line and between them, dominated the corrected time results.

Both yachts flew 3Di sails to power them northward with Beau Geste and Giacomo using sails from previous lives once again proving the performance durability of North Sails' 3Di. Beau Geste and Giacomo both used 3Di 780 for their upwind sails and 3Di 760 for their code sails.

Beau Geste placed first on General handicap, second on IRC and first on PBH

Giacomo placed second on General handicap, first in IRC and second on PBH

The rest of the fleet is yet to finish

North Sails and Glenn Ashby join forces to develop the Worlds fastest One Design multihull sails Glenn Ashby, world class sailor and multiple multihull world champion, has teamed up with North Sails to develop and market the Glenn Ashby Signature Line of multihull sails including the A-Class, Taipan and Tornado. Volvo Ocean Race- No Easter Break for GAC Pindar and Southern Spars
Southern Spars and TNL GAC Pindar have been hard at work getting three rigs freighted to USA, Brazil and Portugal Southern Spars received an urgent call on the Thursday before Easter, from Volvo Ocean Race to get a spare mast on a ship that weekend. Richard Thorpe of TNL GAC Pindar was immediately on the case, leading a logistical mission for the team at TNL GAC Pindar. The other spare mast is currently getting loaded onto a plane in the Middle East to meet Dongfeng Race Team in Itajai.
