The Louis Vuitton Cup in Valencia is in still in the doldrums on its fourth day.
Waiting at the Louis Vuitton Cup: German sailor Jan Schoepe is posting the weather condition under his feet. Wonder if he kept the same words on for Day 3 and now Day 4? Heinrich Hecht / United Internet Team Germany
The United Internet Team Germany and the other ten challenger teams at the 32nd America’s Cup could not race a single match race. Today’s opponents of the German team would have been Emirates Team New Zealand as well as the Spanish team Desafio Español 2007.
For the following days the meteorologists have not announced any crucial changes of conditions. Waiting has to go on – but the German team is still keeping calm: 'We are all professional sailors and we know that we are dependent on the wind. We are used to wait for a long time and still be prepared for racing', says skipper Jesper Bank.
The cancelled races of today will be repeated during Round Robin 2. The duel against New Zealand will therefore take place on Thursday (26th April), the duel against the Spanish team will happen on Friday (27th April). Tomorrow starts the first reserve day of the Round Robin 1 where the races that were cancelled on the first day will be repeated. Therefore the opponents of the German team are BMW Oracle Racing and Team Shosholoza.
