The Auto Advantage Newcastle to Port Stephens Race 2013, which will be held on 14 April 2013, has already hit 10 entries with still more than two months to go before race day.

As a feeder race to Sail Port Stephens the Auto Advantage Newcastle Port Stephens Race is run in conjunction with RPAYC’s Pittwater Newcastle race the day prior. Both races provide for some great Category Four coastal racing rather than the more laborious delivery option and allow for an evening’s stopover in Newcastle where free overnight berthing for visiting yachts and good old NCYC hospitality is guaranteed on arrival.

Yachts mainly around 40 feet so far making up the bulk of competitors that have indicated their intention to compete in the Bluewater ‘coastal sprint race’. To date entries suggest that the ‘boats to beat’ are Sayer 44.9 Colour Tile or Corby 43 Anger Management however with a couple of Farr 40 OD’s and a Cookson 12 also entered these yachts may well be snapping at the heels of their larger compatriots.

Entries are anticipated to reach around 30 yachts by the closing date of 11 April 2013.
