The stylish gS Series goes public this week as Raymarine unveils its powerful glass bridge navigation system for the discerning boater. Starkly attractive, flexible, and simple to use, gS Series’ edge-to-edge glass construction and slim-line bezels enable the displays to be completely flush mounted for seamless good looks; transforming an ordinary helm station into something special.
Available in 9', 12' or 15.4' screen sizes, gS Series meets the needs of demanding skippers looking for integrated navigation with unprecedented flexibility; each gS Series screen is a powerful, fully self-contained multifunction navigation display so it’s easy to create a single display touch-screen navigation system or expand gS Series into a multi-station system with remote keyboard control or network together with the full family of a, c and e Series MFDs. gS Series is equipped with a new fast dual core processor plus a third dedicated graphics processor, delivering su per-fast and responsive performance and gigabit networking. Raymarine’s thermal night vision cameras, IP cameras, ClearPulse CHIRP sonar, 256 colour radar, music via FUSIONLink can all be accessed through gS Series. NMEA2000 networking is achieved through Raymarine’s SeaTalkng cabling system and a gS Series system can also be linked directly to Raymarine's latest MFD range.
Raymarine’s LightHouse User Interface combined with the smooth and responsive Multi-Touch screen makes gS Series very user-friendly. The fluid touch-screen interaction and pinch-to-zoom chart controls make operation and navigation incredibly simple. The gS Series screens themselves are also highly practical being engineered with unique LCD technology to eliminate the 'blackout effect' caused by polarised sport sunglasses.
gS Series can be controlled remotely, options include a keypad to give full control of single or multiple gS Series displays; the keypad can be used in portrait or landscape orientation (two key overlays are supplied) and is fully waterproof to IPX6 and IPX7standards. gS Series also has the flexibility of built-in Wi-Fi; enabling skippers to use RayRemote and/or RayControl apps to control the gS Series directly from smartphone or tablet, pulling up charts, operating radar and sonar, selecting menus, setting waypoints, and controlling settings and systems. Each gS Series display features an HDMI video output for connection to LCD TVs and monitors. The gS Series remote keyboard or Raymarine wireless apps give full control of gS Series from any onboard HDTV, monitor or display.
The gS Series powerful chart engine supports Navionics Platinum Plus charts, offering stunning 3D chart images and aerial photo chart overlays. gS Series displays are supplied with fully waterproof remote dual microSD memory card readers for Navionics charts, software updates and data backup. The card reader uses a USB connection to the gS Series display and can be surface mounted or hidden away. Cartography can be shared across networked displays from a single card reader.
gS Series systems are available through Raymarine’s network of certified gS Series dealers, who can help create and customise a gS Series system that is right for both vessel and owner.
