Navico forms UK distribution subsidiary

by IBI Magazine on 5 Jan 2007
Marine electronics manufacturer Navico, which was formed in September 2006 with the merger of B&G, Simrad, Lowrance and Eagle, has introduced a new distribution subsidiary in Britain.

Navico UK, which is based in Romsey, Hampshire, will act as a vehicle to distribute B&G and Simrad electronics and will provide support to the company's independent distributor for Eagle and Lowrance.

Effective immediately, George Pollard, head of sales and marketing for the B&G brand worldwide, will serve as general manager of Navico UK.

'The new UK distribution company will enable us to launch, market and support our exciting range of new products arriving in 2007 and beyond,' says Pollard. 'To ensure our customers receive consistently high levels of service and support, we plan to make our customer service the best in the UK.'

Navico, which is headquartered in Lysaker, Norway, was formed in September 2006 following the merger between Simrad Yachting AS and Lowrance Electronics Inc. It is one of the world's largest companies in development, production, marketing and sales of marine electronics for navigation, communication, auto-steering and fishfinding. The company operates worldwide and distributes its products on all continents.
