Today is the Final of the Monsoon Cup and is to be sailed on the Pulau Duyong Basin, in Kuala Terengganu in Malaysia.

The final will be sailed between three times World Sailor of the Year Ben Ainslie and his TeamOrigin crew of Iain Percy, Matt Cornwell, Christian Kamp and Mike Mottl and Adam Minoprio and his crew, who are aiming to add the Monsoon Cup to their trophy tally.

Yesterday 24 year old Adam Minoprio and his ETNZ BlackMatch crew of Tom Powrie, David Swete, Nick Blackman and Dan McLean won the ISAF World Match Racing Championship.

First to be sailed is the Petit Final, between the defending Monsoon Cup champion Australia’s Peter Gilmour (YANMAR Racing) and Sebastien Col (ALL 4 One Team).

This morning the breeze was coming from the east south east and the racing was on hold as the race officials waited for the wind to swing to the north east.

The sail-off for positions five through to eight was cancelled.

The final placings:

5th - Mathieu Richard
6th - Phil Robertson
7th - Torvar Mirsky
8th - Damien Iehl

The sea breeze is now filling in gradually and this afternoon's racing should start as scheduled.

The last two hours of the event will be broadcast live around the world with a footprint of more than 1.4 billion homes.
