Strong Sabre fleet to compete in Adelaide at Masters Games Peter Muirhead
The 13th Australian Masters Games has drawn a fine fleet of competitors for the eight race series to be held at Adelaide Sailing Club on the shores of Gulf St. Vincent.

Forty six sailors have entered, with a strong contingent of 16 Sabre class single handers and a significant representation from the Access dinghy classes. Also included are Mosquitos, Lasers, Finns and more. For the yachties’ comfort, the race schedule is set for two short races in the afternoon to allow for morning recovery!

The Invitation Race will be incorporated into the Club’s Opening Day Sailpast on Sunday October 9th. This will be a great start to the Games with the Fort Glanville Battery providing a Cannon Salute for the season opening and a Rifle Volley for the commencement of racing. Then it’s down to racing on Monday 10th October.

Many friendships and old battles will be rekindled in what promises to be a wonderful week of Australian Masters Games website

There were plenty of crew taking the opportunity to hang out at the back of the beach at the Cape Panwa Hotel (an eminently suitable spot for a bit of enforced idleness), but then the breeze came in and it was all hands on deck. Literally.
