Manson Anchors has announced it will use the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 09 (SCIBS) for the Australian launch of the eighth Anchor in their range, The Manson Racer. The Racer offers racing yachts a specifically designed anchor solution.

The Manson Racer is the first anchor on the market specifically tailored for racing yachts of all sizes. Made from high tensile Aluminum, the Racer is fully welded ready for use and anodized in a deep blue. It offers yacht racers an effective anchor with great weight saving potential.

Manson Senior Vice President Ned Wood says 'a lot of Manson Anchor’s staff race yachts and we saw a perfect niche in the market for an affordable, fully welded item that could be used racing around buoys whilst offering significant weight savings'. Wood continues 'even 2Oft keelboats are wanting to keep weight to a minimum but still be able to deploy an anchor immediately, the Racer offer the perfect solution to this situation'.

The Manson Racer comes in seven different sizes and will be sold on recommended use for boat length. Manson’s breakthrough on Aluminium type and process has enabled it to overcome the traditional issues associated with welding Aluminium and offer an assembled anchor ready for use immediately.

Prominent Auckland offshore yachtsman Josh Tucker (BooBoo) says 'for us, even with a small yacht, each and every kilogram counts. With our Manson Racer we could save 6O/c on anchor weight and we had to buy an anchor so the cost was irrelevant. Really, in yacht racing little things collectively make a big difference.'

The Racer will be available through all distribution channels and retail outlets where Manson Anchors are currently sold.

Manson Anchors is a New Zealand company which fabricates Lloyds Register Approved galvanised and highly polished Stainless Steel Anchors. With eight different anchors in their range, they have been making anchors since 1972. Sizes range from 2kg up to 4500kg and supply product worldwide. Smallest dinghy to largest Superyacht, Manson has a product for every boat.
