London 2012 Olympic Games sailing schedule announced

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) today announced the complete sports competition schedule, including ticket prices, for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The Olympic Sailing Competition will run from 29 July to 11 August 2012.

Spectators at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy will be treated to Finn, Star and women's match racing action in the Elliott 6m on the opening day.

Medal Races and Victory Ceremonies start on 5 August with the competition closing on 11 August after the women's match racing finals.

Ticket prices range from £20 to £55 and the full schedule can be found here.

• Applications for Olympic Games tickets accepted between 15 March 2011 and 11.59pm on 26 April 2011
• Applications processed between May 2011 and June 2011
• Notifications sent to all applicants in June 2011
• Applications for Paralympic Games tickets open on 9 September 2011
• Please note that your application is only a request for tickets. All applicants will be notified via email or letter if they have been successful in obtaining tickets in June 2011.

Australia has again topped the table with their Gold Medal and three Silver Medals won in the 2016 Olympic Sailing Regat Using the weighted points system for defining Olympic Medal Table placings, Australia has again topped the table with their Gold Medal and three Silver Medals won in the 2016 Olympic Sailing Regatta in Rio de Janeiro. After the 2012 Olympic Regatta in Weymouth, Australia also topped the Medal table, but were tied with hosts, Great Britain on 11pts. Includes full results for all classes.

A magnificent fleet gathers in Cowes for Etchells World Championship
58 teams from all over the world have entered the championship, hosted by the Royal London Yacht Club. Twenty teams are from Great Britain and a dozen each from Australia and the United States of America. Four entries are from Hong Kong and as far afield as: Bermuda, Ireland, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.
