Linda Rahm Wins Tróia Portugal Women's Cup

The Swede Linda Rahm won the Tróia Portugal Women's Cup, organized by Sun Sailing team and sponsored by Turismo de Portugal and Troia resort, which ended today in Tróia. The crew won 13 matches and was defeated only twice in the three Round Robins.

The Brit Lucy MacGregor, current European Champion, reached the second position with 10 wins and 5 losses.

Julie Bossard, France, was third after, yesterday, have been almost perfect. The French team reached the podium, as a result of the excellent adaptation to strong wind.

The North American Sandy Hayes finished in fourth place (7 V-8D), while Rita Gonçalves managed to achieve its goal of improving the sixth in 2007. The champion of Portugal was fifth overall (5V-10D).

Caroline Béjar, Brazil, got the sixth place, adding only 2 wins in 15 disputed. Despite the presence in the team, of 470 Olympic medallist in Beijing 2008, Isabel Swan, the Brazilian crew never managed to adapt to the race course of Tróia.

Due to light wind, today was only possible to do three flights of Round Robin 3, which prevented the competition reaching the semi-finals and final.
