Latest ISWC World Rankings - Moussilmani leads
|
The ISWC world rankings have been updated after the Euopean Championship 2008 in Karpathos, Greece. In the mens division, Cyril Moussilmani (FRA, Fanatic, North) is still leading due to his victory at the French Cup he has the deciding extra points to keep him ahead of his opponents. Ben van der Steen (NED), who also won a Grade C even in spring is in second now, followed by world champion Antoine Albeau (FRA, Starboard) and European Champion Bjorn Dunkerbeck (SUI, Proof, North). Cedric Bordes (FRA) is completing the top 5. The womens division is one more time dominated by Valerie Ghibaudo (FRA, Starboard), clearly ahead of Marion Raisi (FRA) and Karin Jaggi (SUI, F2, North). In the manufacturers ranking, T1 climbed some places up to third, F2 still in the lead ahead of Fanatic, but it is getting closer. Starboard in fourth position and Carbon Art complete the top five. In the Sail Manufacturers division it seems to be easy play for North, ahead of Loft Sails and Simmer now in third. Pryde and Gaastra are the runner ups at the moment. In the nations ranking, 19 different nations from three continents are represented now, with France clearly in the lead ahead of the Netherlands and Switzerland. Germany climbed up to fourth position now, and Greece in fifth due to lack of a greek lady competing. In total, there are 215 sailors now in the 2008 world ranking, and the next decisions are coming up with the German Championship Final from the 6th till 14th of September, and more national events are in the pipeline to be included in the 2008 ranking. The full rankings can be found in the events -> rankings section of www.speedworldcup.com Clicking the ranking section opens the complete listing in pdf format.
