DAY 4 RACE 1 - Laser 4.7 and Standard Youth Worlds Claudio Cambria
Laser 4.7 and Standard Youth World Championship day 4 in Argentina.

Today the competitors sailed races 7 and 8 of this championship on a sunny day with wind of of 10-15 knots, with some gusts to 16 knots.


In the Girls fleet the first race of the day was won by Yolanda Luque Gonzalez from Spain. She was ahead of the fleet for the whole race. Gonzalez was followed by another Spanish sailor, Martina Reino Cacho, then Brazilian sailor Maria Carolina Knudsen Boabaid.

In race 8 another Spanish sailor María Cabrera Perez took the first place, followed by Martina Reino Cacho (Spain) and Anja Hamerlitz (Croatia).

470 Class Japan National Championships –Day 6– Nippon Boys keep podium
Last day, only Medal Race was sailed. Many sailors who did not proceed to the Medal Race went out on the spectator boats Many support to the Nippon Boys who are narrowly in front of Belcher/Ryan, the current world champion. On a hot summer day at Enoshima, gentle seabreeze started as usual, however, it did not increase, and the Medal Race started at 13:45 after some waiting on shore.

Five athletes added to US Sailing Team Roster
Steph Roble (East Troy, Wisc.) and Maggie Shea (Wilmette, Ill.) have been added in the women's 49erFX Chris Rast (Holland, Mich.) and Trevor Burd (Marblehead, Mass.) have been named in the men's 49er, and Haddon Hughes (Houston, Texas) has joined the team in the women's Laser Radial class.

A forecast calling for storms to pass over course during night convinced seven of the original 40 entrants to drop out Of the remaining 33 teams, an additional ten were forced to retire due to damaged equipment or other problems incurred during multiple squalls that left memorable impressions and their calling cards of driving rain and winds gusting 40+ knots.

Over nine (+ve) in an aircraft, and without a G-suit, you will be unconscious. So at three G’s, and pulling no punches with them either, we not only enjoyed our opportunity to sit with Gianguido Girotti (G3), we got to learn a lot as well!
