An expert independent analysis of The Marine Action Group’s business plan for Tipplers - an iconic boating and recreational destination on the Gold Coast - has been released and the report supports the organisations vision and financial projections.
Mr Douglas said. 'The people just want Tipplers back, and the plan developed is a great opportunity for the Gold Coast. It is visionary, it is bold and it is achievable.
'After 18 years of banking and finance experience, I am confident that the MAG plan will succeed and it will save ratepayers from the Tipplers burden.'
He continues: 'While I appreciate Amanda Lake’s passion for the issue, criticism of my run for Mayor is hypocritical. Amanda has not been a part of the MAG decision making process since she declared herself as a political candidate where she herself stated she could address Tipplers from within.
'I have, as a matter of principle, stepped down from the role of spokesman for those reasons, to dispel any perception of conflict of interest. This however does not diminish my determination to ensure that Council delivers what the people of our city truly want and deserve in a redeveloped Tipplers.'
